Text Gateway Description:
Please frequently refer to the block diagram
below when reading this description.
Preconfigured DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency, the same
as used by touch tone telephones) Command Sequences (1 to 10
tones) are received at the antenna from a transmission
source.
A radio or repeater receives the signal and converts it
to an audio signal.
The radio audio signal is connected to the computer's
Audio Line Input.
If a Command Sequence is recognized the program will
trigger a corresponding event and send cell phone text
messages to preconfigured recipients.
Prerequisites:
- A receiving radio (or repeater audio) and antenna
system.
- A dedicated computer with Win98, Win2K, or WinXP.
- An active (always connected) Internet connection.
- A valid Email account.
Prerequisite Notes:
- MS Vista is not supported at this time.
- The radio or audio source may be of any type as long
as it can deliver at least 100mv output and with minimal
distortion.
- It is strongly recommended that the audio source have
a method to squelch unwanted signals and noise.
