This notebook was developed in order to provide information and education about a tower stress analysis and information to obtain permission to erect a tower.

This notebook will give you an idea of what you might be required to submit to your local Zoning Board for their consideration.

The load analysis provided was elementary with many details missing to conclude suitability, yet it was sufficient for approval. (Mechanical Engineers are invited to vent their distaste to the overly simplistic and horribly inaccurate load analysis to KB8WOW.)

The following is a real example of a zoning variance request.

• A plan view sketch (on a Zoning Board supplied form) showing locations and pertinent information.
• A cover letter that explains your request.
• Additional summaries to support your request.
• Additional drawings to show project details.
• A load analysis to support your claim that the structure is safe and has been engineered to certain standards.
